After an intense day of Freeride in the French Cerdanya with snow up to our ears, Ignasi and Xavi decided to create an active tourism project in the Barcelona area. That's how it all started, with different proposals of sports activities; but we wanted to explore the world...

So, we launched our first agency Dsmartcat, with customized trips to several selected destinations in the world such as Albania, Iceland, Cuba or New Zealand. In a short time, dozens of people had successfully traveled to 24 countries spread over 6 continents (we never made it to Antarctica ...).

We learned a lot and people's experiences were very positive, but did we succeed as a company? Not really. The fact of positioning ourselves in tailor-made trips to any corner of the world, competing with giants with more than 20 years of experience, meant that we were swimming in a sea full of sharks...

It was at that moment when we decided to firmly bet on Cape Verde, an emerging tourist destination just a few hours flight away and that met all the requirements to promote a responsible and unique tourism. We discovered the archipelago a few years ago, and when we sent our first group in 2014, all our predictions were confirmed. We were over the moon again!

From here, after 3 years of intense work, research and prospecting of the destination side by side with our local partners, we launched our new project Oi Cabo Verde: specialists in the Creole archipelago. The Cabo Verde travel agency was launched.

And here we are Ignasi and Xavi, a small family of travel designers (yes, we never quite believed in being an agency, it always sounded weird to us). Since we are involved in this project we no longer remember the horrible feeling of having to go to work looking at the clock. So now we have your Cabo Verde travel agency.

After growing in 2019, we faced 2020 with great enthusiasm, but the global pandemic broke out and everything came to a halt. International borders are closed and we are unable to work for more than a year.

Introducing Vistaverde tours, our local operator in the archipelago. The other side of your travel agency Cape Verde From Mindelo and with presence in all the islands, it offers its services to different countries in Central Europe. Since 2017, it also operates with Spain and Andorra through Oi Cabo Verde exclusively.

Its workforce of more than 50 people with a fair salary with a labor agreement, pays social security taxes and, in addition, has health insurance that covers even close family members.

Every year, they gather their entire staff for a workshop to discuss the sustainability and responsibility of their tourism project.
