How to choose flights to Cape Verde?
Although there are different options to travel to Cape Verde from Spain, we must take into account different factors, as these will condition our itinerary.
At Oi Cabo Verde we manage all land services including internal flights and inter-island ferries.
We do not manage international flights, but don’t worry, we will inform you about the best way to do it. You will also have access to promotional fares that are not accessible to agencies.

International Airports
Cape Verde has 4 international airports:
- Praia: Nelson Mandela International Airport (daily flights to Lisbon) + connections to Gran Canaria.
- Sao Vicente: Cesaria Evora International Airport (Daily flights to Lisbon)
- Departure: Amilcar Cabral International Airport (Daily flights to Europe)
- Boavista: Arístides Pereira International Airport (Weekly flights to Lisbon)

It must be taken into account that international flights greatly condition the final price of any trip.
Flights to Cape Verde are a double-edged sword, since on the one hand they can be expensive at certain times of the year, but on the other hand, this prevents the archipelago from becoming a crowded tourist destination.
Flights can range from 325€ to over 1000€ in very high seasons.
While it is true that in months such as January, May, June, or September prices may be lower, the dynamic pricing of flights and algorithms make them quite unpredictable.
Therefore, we recommend preparing your trip as far in advance as possible in order to find the best prices and availability of services.
Airlines
- TAP Flights to Cape Verde with stopover in Lisbon (1-2h). This company offers great comfort and good fares when traveling out of season. The time of the stopovers is very comfortable and they offer the possibility to stay in Lisbon.
- RAM Competitive prices but complex schedules and long layovers, good option when looking for low prices but we do not recommend it due to recurrent delays, cancellations.
- Vueling Direct flights to Sal from June to September.
- Binter The Canary Islands airline offers flights to Cape Verde.
Type of trip
It is important to consider the airport of arrival according to the type of itinerary we are going to make. In Oi Cabo Verde we will advise you on the flights to choose according to the islands you visit. We can even arrive to Cape Verde through one airport and return from another, since we will have made an internal flight in between.
- Itineraries in Sotavento islands > Entrance and exit through Praia
- Itineraries in Windward Islands > Entry and exit via Sao Vicente
- For other customized itineraries> we can use different airports of entry or exit, including Sal, with direct flights from June to September.
Scales
Flights to Cape Verde have stopovers in Lisbon with an approximate duration of 1h 50min. The peninsular flight has a duration of 1h 15/50min (BCN/MAD) and the long flight takes about 4 hours. The tickets include snack during the short flight, menu on the long flight, and normally luggage.

How do we work?

As we have already mentioned, we do not manage international flights, but do not worry, we will advise you about it. Reservations
Once you have decided that you want to travel to Cape Verde we make it easy for you. Click on “I want to travel” or “Contact” and we will offer you different ways to design your trip. We can do it by phone or video call, so that we can meet each other face to face! During this consultation, you explain to us the type of trip you have in mind, the dates, days, accommodation category, type of experiences, etc. After this, we will look at the best travel proposal to design, how many islands to visit and advise you on international flights. A few days after the consultation you will receive your travel proposal and later you will be able to formalize it.
In advance
In order to ensure the best available services we recommend you to book your trip several months in advance, ideally between 3 and 6 months. At Oi Cabo Verde we do not manage “last minute trips” less than 30 days before departure. We tell you in much more detail in the following link:
