How to choose flights to Cape Verde?
Although there are different options to travel to Cape Verde from Spain, we must take into account different factors, as these will condition our itinerary.
It must be taken into account that international flights greatly condition the final price of the trip, since these can go from 290€ to over 1000€ in very high seasons.
In order to speed up your personalized itinerary as much as possible, it is very important for us to know the international flight schedules you have chosen. For this we will take into account:
Type of trip:
- Itineraries in Sotavento islands > Entrance and exit through Praia
- Itineraries in Windward Islands > Entry and exit via Sao Vicente
- For other customized itineraries> we can use different airports of entry or exit, including Sal, with direct flights from June to September.
Airlines:
- TAP Connections to Cape Verde with stopover in Lisbon (1-2h). This company offers great comfort and good fares when traveling out of season. The time of the stopovers is very comfortable and they offer the possibility to stay in Lisbon.
- RAM Competitive prices but complex schedules and long layovers, good option when looking for low prices but we do not recommend it.
- Vueling Direct flights to Sal from June to September.

How to find out prices and schedules for your flight?

You will be asked if you want to spend a few days in Lisbon (Stopover), and we select the option we want. To simply stop over for an hour, click on “Continue without Stopover”.)

Domestic, internal, or inter-island flights are part of your Oi Cape Verde itinerary. They last between 15 and 55 minutes depending on the itinerary.
These flights meet all safety standards, even for flying in European space. At present, in terms of schedules, internal flights in Cape Verde are working very well, thanks also to the addition of a new aircraft to the fleet.
However, it is important to know that there are two situations in which a flight may be delayed or even cancelled:
- For medical emergencies.
- Weather conditions such as dry haze.
The first situation is due to the fact that Cape Verde does not have medical helicopters. For this reason, regular airplanes are used to carry out these medical transfers. When this happens, the aircraft gives priority to the emergency and scheduled flights may be delayed.
In the second case, aircraft are grounded for safety reasons. It is strictly forbidden to fly in these weather conditions.
As we have already mentioned, these are far from usual situations, since they are force majeure situations.
In this sense it is very important to have a specialized agency that can react in time. If, for whatever reason, there is a delay or cancellation, we will do everything we can to ensure that the scheduled itinerary is affected as little as possible.
